Paul is an up and coming musician with a happy soul. He has raw talent and the support of family and friends. Success is his for the taking. It’s Christmas time and life is good. Then a stranger comes into his life, and they are a match made in heaven, until Ami just disappears...
Will love bring a Christmas miracle when Ami, the failing cupid, meets Paul, the aspiring musician?

Cupid Christmas Arrow An Olympian Holiday Novella Book 1 edition by Lynn Michaels Romance eBooks

It's December and more and more are coming up with their own set of creations for holiday reads. Lynn Michaels has come up with something different, yet familiar in Cupid's Christmas Arrow. Different for there is a twist to this plot that we think we know a whole lot of.

In this particular read, Cupid has an organization of sub-cupids (this is my term, not found in the book) and Ami is one of those. Ami has a territory he needs to liven up with love and usually meets his quota without difficulty. But, it's Christmas and for some reason, Ami finds distractions that limit his shooting-arrows-of-love capabilities and is coming up short. He gets even more distracted when he sees Paul playing beautifully on a guitar. All thoughts of meeting his quota, and risking Cupid's disapproval, go up in the air as Ami strikes up a conversation with Paul. Before long, he and Paul are making promises but Ami, being Ami, cannot keep up with the promises and disappears.

Paul is understandably confused and angry and almost goes off and tries to forget about the man of his dreams disappearing into thin air. When Ami comes back, he gives his lover a second chance, but the buts butt in and well, the complications begin. One would think the complications come in the form of Ami disappearing, right? No, there is a whole different twist to this story and I'm going to be naughty and leave you hanging. You can pick up the story yourself - I am nice that way (grin).

Now, the author has this (I have come to learn) proclivity to change and twist the familiar into something else entirely. For one thing, the setting of this story is real yet not, the situation is real, and yet is not again, and the men are real - yes, real. This is what intrigued me with this story. Ami is a sensitive character I fell in love with while Paul was this more familiar, cynical, yet loving man I also got to fall for.

Overall, this is a one-sit read and left me smiling happily. Yes, it may sound like a story that should be read on Valentine's Day (it would also work, btw, if you read it then) rather than on Christmas holidays, but it works brilliantly. And yes, this does make my list of happy reads that deserves a second and third time read. Maybe even a fourth come Valentine's Day.

Cupid Christmas Arrow An Olympian Holiday Novella Book 1 edition by Lynn Michaels Romance eBooks Reviews

What a wonderful suprise this story turned out to be! I really enjoyed it, and loved Ami and Paul's relationship and how Ami grew to become his own man. ( I just love Ami!)
Highly recommended if you want a beautifully written Christmas story with a twist
I absolutely loved this fantastic tale! It's one of the most original, unique, and creative holiday stories I've read in quite a while. I especially loved how the author cleverly blended Christmas and Valentine's together. I plan to reread this gem again and again.
I love the overall story. I love Ami & Paul together. What I didn't like was that Chalder didn't get what he deserved (imho) and the story seemed a little rushed and unfinished at the end. I did like the little twist with Eros at the end but could do without the "deleted" chapters attached.
Great book otherwise. Thanks Lynn!
Cupid's Christmas Arrow is a tender novella by Lynn Michaels following Ami who is one of Cupid's Messengers and he's having trouble meeting his Christmas Season quota. On Christmas Eve, he meets the up-and-coming musician named Paul and as if struck by an arrow himself, the pair find themselves falling for each other. Lynn Michaels put a new spin on the mythology of cupids and made an adorable story about two men and how love found them.
Got to love this time of year with all the Christmas stories! Cupid’s Christmas Arrow is quite unique. The author takes Valentine’s Day Cupids and mixes them with Christmas. I guess it’s an assumption that the symbol of Cupid is just for Valentine’s Day so to see them in a Christmas story was creative.
Ami, a Cupid, has trouble making people fall in love. Always missing his quota. While walking down the street he hears a man singing. And that is all Ami needed. Love happens when it happens, even for Cupid.

I will say there’s a cupid in this that I do not like and he’s the worst of the worst. I wish I could have seen him meet a bad end but alas nope. He’s a horrible bully and perhaps if this was a full length novel and not a novella he’d have met an arrow to his stupid head. Lol.

I loved Paul and Ami so much together. They are amazing! Ami goes through a lot to fall in love but he does get it because this is a Christmas love story plain and simple.
